There is so much outdoor activities to pursue in East Devon from a gentle stroll along the Jurassic Coast cliff tops, to off-road driving or sub-aqua diving.  Here a short guide to help get you started.

Birdwatching  There are many excellent places for bird watching in East Devon.  For wading, river and sea birds, Seaton Marshes, the Otter, Exmouth and Axe Estuaries are excellent habitats.  Away from the coast bird watching takes place on Woodbury and Aylesbeare Common, and Fire Beacon Hill where Buzzards are  regular inhabitants.   
Axmouth Golf Course, East Devon B&B Sailing and Water Sports  Exmouth is an excellent place for water sports and sailing clubs and hire facilities can be found right along the East Devon Coast. 

Golfing  For Golf lovers we can boast numerous municipal and private golf courses including Woodbury Park and Budleigh Salterton Golf Course to name just a few. 

 

Walking, Cycling and Riding  The South West Coast Path runs along the East Devon Coast.  East Devon is criss-crossed with bridle paths and foot paths, including the East Devon Way.  Within the East Devon Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty there are many areas of open access such as Woodbury Common, Fire Beacon Hill Nature Reserve, Seaton Marshes, and Ottery Estuary Nature Reserve. 

There are several local businesses offering hacking facilities and bike hire. 

Off Road Driving  There are off road driving facilities around East Devon, including the Landrover Experience Off Road Centre just outside Honiton. 

Anything else?  I am sure we have not thought of everything.  But if you want to do it, there is a good chance you can do it in East Devon – try us!
